UX writing and voice design

for

Shopic

Let's take a closer look:

Shopic designs and operates the smartest shopping cart experiences for grocery stores worldwide

,

How it started

Shopic's product is a smart device that turns any grocery store cart into a smart, computer-vision cart. Shoppers can operate the carts on their own, adding items to their cart and managing its content for a truly futuristic experience.

Shopic reached out to me to supplement their unique experience with carefully curated UX content in English and Hebrew, for their Israeli and global markets.

There was a lot to consider

Since it's a complex product, we wanted to make sure users get a consistent, clear experience. And as this is a B2C product meant for any and all end users (in a nutshell, supermarket shoppers everywhere) we needed to nail down a voice that was approachable and clear. To add another challenging aspect, the Shopic product was constantly changing and evolving, with new features and capabilities added frequently.

What did we do?

We started by going over the various modules and use cases Shopic users can come across as they walk around the store. We created a list of terms to ensure the copy doesn't get confusing over time. This time the voice of the product evolved as we worked, since new and surprising market feedback kept surfacing.

The result?

When the Shopic product was finally released to stores, it was a hit, with an 89% user satisfaction rate. Users loved how simple and easy it was to use - and it received great feedback from real-life users of various ages and levels of proficiency. As the product evolved and improved, I was there (and still am) to write the copy for new releases and updated screens.

Looks good?
