The State of Israel has begun enforcing an electronic travel authorization requirement for all visitors to Israel.
The team working on designing the ETA-IL system approached me to help create clear, simple, and highly accessible content for this new system.
The ETA-IL requirement was brand new, which meant it'll be met with some resistance. People will now need to pay a fee to enter the country, and understand a new travel requirement that did not exist before. The audience for the ETA-IL system is everyone, all over the world. And of course, many of the visitors using the system will not be native English speakers. This made simplicity and clarity even more important.
The content for the ETA-IL system was written based on the pre-created and approved Israeli government voice guideline site. I collaborated with the design team, along with the professional team at the Ministry of Interiors, to write content that will be proper, clear, and useful. I did extensive research, going over similar Electronic Travel Authorization systems from all over the world: The United States, the UK, Australia, and more.
